The BMDCR is a member of the American Kennel Club (AKC) and is the BMDCA recognized club for the Colorado area.  It's primary focus is conducting AKC dog shows and BMDCA draft tests.  In addition, it holds a summer picnic, a holiday party, and occasional educational events.  Membership requires two sponsors and signing the club's code of ethics.

The Meetup group is a social group, organized through the Meetup social network,  that arranges hikes, camping trips, doggie play dates, and other fun activities for Berners and their people.  There are no requirements to join.
